Note: "Recently" is about 1968. See also that "pre-Beeching-cuts" railway line routes are still shown with dashed lines.

These appear to include the Meon Valley line to Fareham,closed in 1962; the Watercress line, closed in 1973, now a heritage line from Alresford to Alton. The Andover to Ludgershall line is still open for military traffic. The map also shows the Oxford to Southampton; Didcot & Newbury; and the Romsey, Andover, Marlborough & Swindon railway lines.
